The Thunder Bay Folk Festival is a weekend event held at the Alpena Antique Tractor Showgrounds located at 6850 French Rd, Alpena, Michigan.
This is truly a family-friendly event with something for everyone. We have Musicians jamming in the jam tent, or around their campsites on Friday and Live Music on Saturday.
Our goal is to put on a first-class music festival right here in NE Michigan. We book popular bands from around the state and occasionally have artists from as far away as Chicago. Another goal was to provide a venue for our many, many talented musicians close by to perform, and with that in mind, we always have a fine selection of these local artists.
Musical genres range from ‘60s folk/rock, bluegrass, country, faux-grass, blues, and always great dance tunes. Don’t let the title “folk” confuse you. We feel that folk music encompasses all these genres and more!
