7th Annual Thunder Bay Folk Fest
September 25-27, 2020

Join us at the next annual Thunder Bay Folk Fest for a fantastic weekend of musical entertainment, workshops, food, friends and all around fun!

Tickets will be available online Spring of 2020.

The Thunder Bay Folk Festival is a weekend long event held at the Alpena Antique Tractor Showgrounds located at 6850 French Rd, Alpena, MI. The dates for 2020 are September 25-27th.

This is truly a family friendly event with something for everyone. We have 3 stages of live music that starts Friday night at 5:00 PM. We have art and music workshops for beginners and advanced alike. There are children’s activities and crafts. There is a mind/body tent offering everything from Pilates, Tai-Chi, Meditation, and even goat yoga was offered in 2018. There are open mic opportunities, a fire lit drum kiva, food and craft vendors and on site camping.

Our goal is to put on a first class music festival right here in NE Michigan. We book popular bands from around the state and occasionally have artists from as far away as Chicago. Another goal was to provide a venue for our many, many talented musicians closer by to perform, and with that in mind we always have a fine selection of these local artists.

Musical genres range from 60’s folk/rock, bluegrass, country, faux-grass, blues, and always great dance tunes. Don’t let the title “folk” scare you off. We feel that folk music encompasses all these genres and more!
